Two uses, one speech pipeline.

What it does

Speech becomes usable communication before it returns to the destination app.

Problem

Built-in dictation is convenient, but the result often still needs editing before it is ready to send. Voice messages add friction when the people speaking use different languages.

Dictation

Speak naturally and get punctuated, ready-to-use text without a separate editing pass.

Cross-language voice messaging

Play a voice message in another language while golosAway is listening. The app translates it and can present the result as text or speak it aloud. Reply by voice, translate the response back, and prepare it for sending.

Engineering

Audio capture, speech recognition, optional translation, synthesized playback, extension state, and app handoff are coordinated through the same pipeline.

Work inside a conversation view

golosAway also includes a Messages extension flow for choosing text presets, recording, processing, and inserting the result without leaving the conversation thread.

Record with clearer guardrails

Recording can stop after silence, and the app now also supports a configurable maximum recording length with a default of 5 minutes.
